Azul Journeys (“we”, “us”) designs tailor-made luxury travel and concierge services. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we use it and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Portuguese data protection law.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is [Company legal name], NIF [tax number], registered at [registered address], Cascais, Portugal, trading as Azul Journeys.
For any privacy question or request, write to book@azuljourneys.com.
2. What we collect
- Enquiry and contact forms: your name, email address and, if you choose to share them, phone number, destination ideas, travel dates, number of travellers, budget and any message.
- Find Your Signature Journey quiz: your answers, the travel personality they produce, your name, email address and optional phone number.
- When we plan a journey with you: details needed to make bookings, such as passport names, dates of birth, dietary or accessibility needs and preferences you tell us about. We only ask for this once you decide to travel with us.
- Technical data: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security. With your consent only, analytics cookies collect anonymous usage statistics (see our Cookie Policy).
We do not collect payment card details through this website.
3. Why we use it and our legal basis
- To answer your enquiry and prepare a proposal: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To arrange and manage your journey: performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)). Health or accessibility information is used only with your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a)).
- To keep records required by law, such as invoices and tax records: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).
- To follow up on a proposal we have sent you and keep the website secure: our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Analytics cookies and newsletters: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.
4. Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We share it only with:
- Travel suppliers (hotels, villas, airlines, private aviation and yacht operators, guides, transfer companies) when you ask us to book them, and only what they need to provide the service.
- Service providers who help us run the business: website hosting (Hostinger, within the EU), email and office software, and, if you consent, Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd). They act on our instructions under data processing agreements.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
Some suppliers are outside the European Economic Area, because your journey takes place there. In those cases the transfer is necessary to deliver the service you have asked for, or is protected by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.
5. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: up to 24 months after our last contact, then deleted.
- Booking and invoicing records: for as long as Portuguese accounting and tax law requires (currently 10 years).
- Consent records and newsletter subscriptions: until you withdraw consent.
6. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to its use, receive it in a portable format, or withdraw any consent you have given. Write to book@azuljourneys.com and we will reply within one month.
You also have the right to complain to the Portuguese supervisory authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), or to the authority in the EU country where you live.
7. Security
The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, access to enquiries is limited to our team, and our providers are chosen for their security standards.
8. Children
Our website is intended for adults. Information about children travelling with you is provided by you as their parent or guardian and used only to plan the journey.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as our services change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
